I know it may seem like a long way to travel for a game of golf, especially if golf is not your thing, but believe me this trip is worth it.The whole family will enjoy this unique way of playing golf from your little ones to your much bigger ones. Built on the property of The Penrith Panthers, Aqua Golf is a challenging golf course over a body of water.
On arrival you will be sized up and handed the right golf club for your height. You pay per bucket of golf balls and line up in one of 15 individual netted cubicles to start putting till your hearts content. The body of water is expansive with attractive targets positioned strategically for you to aim at. If you're lucky enough or good enough to hit a target there are a variety of prizes as incentive starting with ice blocks and making their way up ( in order of difficulty ) to prize money.
You can spend hours here but keep in mind one bucket of balls, holding approximately 50 balls will take about 15 - 20 minutes to get through depending on how precise and accurate you are being with your putts. For quicker players the balls will be gone before you know it, hit out all over the body of water.
A fairly safe experience. I say 'fairly' because the platform you are standing on has a decline straight into the water. Of course, you are required and instructed to stay on the carpeted pads to play but when a ball rolls into the water it is instinctual to lean down and collect it. Sounds okay for an adult but a child may lose their footing and land head first into the water. Worse case scenario of course.
There are also some added wonderful inclusions to make your day complete. With no kiosk close by to purchase lunch, the Aqua Golf team cleverly offer barbecue facilities and a picnic area. Plus a fridge/ freezer full of cold drinks and ice creams to purchase on a hot day. Birthday parties and corporate events are a real hit at Aqua Golf as they cater to all abilities in a fun and challenging environment. Overall, a fun way to be outdoors exploring a unique golf course and challenging yourself.
