Hit the pool and make a splash
The Enoggera pool holds day and night aqua aerobics classes from Monday to Saturday, so even with a busy lifestyle there's bound to be a class that will be convenient for you to attend.
The pool is covered and heated, which means that come winter, classes continue and the old excuse of "it's too cold" just doesn't cut it! Classes run for approximately 45 minutes and cost $10 per day class and $11 per night class.. The pool does offer a multi visit pass that sees you getting 10 day classes for $90 or 10 night classes for $100. You simply have your card punched each time you attend.
I have done classes with each of the two instructors and both are excellent and a lot of fun. Aqua aerobics is a non weight bearing form of exercise, making it perfect for those with troublesome knees or similar issues. It's important to let the instructor know about any such problems so they can keep an eye on you and suggest alternate ways of doing some of the exercises, as necessary.
Don't be fooled into thinking that this is a walk in the park - you do get a good workout and work up a sweat. It is, however, a very enjoyable way to exercise - amongst the music, chatter and laughter everyone has a good time. And isn't that how exercise should be? If it's fun, we're far more inclined to keep it up. All you need to take is a towel and perhaps a water bottle, although water is supplied.
