Autumn in the Botanic Gardens
One of the best things about school holidays in autumn is that you can get outside and have some great fun in the sun without the heat. Botanic Gardens of South Australia have a great school holiday program this autumn holidays.
The program is designed to promote fun and hands-on learning about people, the environment and plants. Events are at the Adelaide Botanic Garden and Mt Lofty Botanic Garden and are suitable for various ages ranging from 5 to 13 years old and while some activities attract a small fee, many are free.
Bookings for children are essential, however, although each child must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver at all times, adults do not need to book.
Singing in the Rainforest (5 – 12 years, 1 hour) Monday 16 April, Wednesday 18 April and Friday 20 April 2018 at 2.30 pm
Join Michael Mills (Narrator) for a musical adventure through the Adelaide Botanic Garden and discover that there is more to the forest than the trees. Learn the importance of rainforests in the natural world and where stories are made, songs are sung and dreams turn to dance.
Encounter Jeremiah Shadwell (tree-chopper), Marvin Marley (Guardian of the World's Rainforests) and Capital Melvin Kelvin of the Interplanetary Botanical Investigatory Service along with many other surprise characters.
Cost is $20 per child and bookings are essential. Meet at the northern end of the Bicentennial Conservatory at Adelaide Botanic Garden.
