At the time of writing, the Coronavirus is causing havoc all over the world. With the school holidays coming up, what will it mean for children and families? Will we have to stay home in isolation, or can we get outdoors and enjoy all the wonderful activities that Port Stephens have to offer?
With the situation changing daily, it is important to check the Department of Health website for updates.
Keep reading for some outdoor ideas (as long as we stay 1.5 metres from other people), some indoor ideas (if we have to stay at home) and some of the children's programs that are planned. These school holidays will certainly be one that we have never experienced before. Here are some ideas to get you started - whatever the situation!

Get some fresh air and go for a walk
OUTDOOR IDEAS
Walk to the top of
Tomaree Head Summit (more suitable for older children due to its steep climb).
Take your dog, or a neighbour's dog, for a
walk.

Hop on your bikes and ride along the Nelson Bay Foreshore to Little Beach
INDOOR IDEAS AT HOME
Buy LEGO or toys online and have them delivered to your door.
Create a Treasure Hunt in your back garden, or buy some Easter eggs and start an Easter Egg Hunt - whatever the date!
Skype friends and family and play games such as Eye Spy.
Throw a huge tablecloth over your dining table and create fort underneath.
Print off activity sheets or colouring-in from websites such as
Nick Junior.
Collect empty toilet rolls (if you have any!) and see who can make the best toilet roll craft.
Play board games, Uno or make your own Snakes & Ladders Board. Teach your kids how to play Solitaire.
