The April school holidays are almost upon us and if you want your kids to be part of some of the best school holidays programs and events in Perth, then you will need to start booking now, or else you may miss out (and be stuck with them yourself!).


Code Camp
These 3 and 4 day coding camps cater to kids from five years old to high school, and take place in various schools across Perth. Kids will learn to create and build their own games ending up with their very own app that will be usable on multiple devices.

When: April 3rd to 29th, from 9am to 3.30pm daily

Hachiko – School Holiday Puppet Show
Based on a true story of a dog who waited at a Tokyo train station every day for nine years, Hachik& #333 ; is a simple yet beautiful tale about the love and companionship animals can bring to our lives, brought to life by the talented puppeteers at the SPPT.

When: April 8th to 22nd, multiple performances daily

CirQuest School Holiday Program
Children between 4 and 15 years have a super-fun school holiday program offered to them from CirQuest Circus School, running for four days in the first week of the holidays. In a fun and encouraging atmosphere, these interactive workshops will expose kids to a huge range of circus skills including acrobatics, trampoline, trapeze, rope, silks, juggling, hula hoops, spinning plates, poi spinning, staff twirling, flower sticks and diabolo. Older kids will also get to try stiltwalking, rola bola, walking globe and the unicycle.

4 to 6 year olds - 9.00-11.00am
7 to 9 year olds - 11.30am-1.30pm
10 to 15 year olds - 2.00-4.00pm

When: Monday 10th to Thursday 13th April

Zoo Crew School Holiday Camps
Book now for the popular, educational and fun Zoo Crew day programs during the April school holidays for kids aged 8 to 13. The full six hour days each have different themes but always include the chance to meet animals up close, help the keepers, have access to limited areas, learn about wildlife and conservation and play games and solve challenges.

When: Monday 10th to Friday 21st April

Art Classes for Kids at Fremantle Arts Centre
From mosaic sea creatures to pottery, photography, film, animation, paper mache, marbling and more, these wonderful classes are designed for younger (5-8 years) and older (9-12 years) kids. Ranging from two hours to all day, all classes are run by highly qualified tutors guaranteed to get your kids creative juices flowing.

Scitech School Holiday Programs
As soon as school is over kids love learning, so take advantage of their thirst for knowledge and book them into the school holiday programs run by our favourite science geeks at Scitech. With programs designed for everyone between 4 and 16 years, they will learn about the science of toys, DIY robotics, Easter Egg Engineers and birds of prey.

When: starts Monday 10th April and continues during school holidays

Picture Book Workshops with Frane Lessac
Popular children's author and illustrator Frane Lessac will be hosting two special sessions to celebrate the release of her new book 'A is for Australia'. For younger kids, they will get a storytelling session followed by the chance for them to make their very own picture book, while older kids are invited to learn how to illustrate picture books, and cover the journey from the spark of an idea to the finished creation while Frane provides tips on how to organise story ideas into words and pictures.
With over 40 published books, Frane is a much loved and very qualified writer and may encourage your child to start their own writing and illustrating career.

These are free school holiday activities for kids aged between 3 and 7 years (storytelling and picturebook making) and 8 to 12 years (book illustration workshop). Places are limited so bookings are essential. To book please contact Kenwick Library on 9397 3099.

Crazy Fun Easter Carnival
Taking place over the Easter weekend in Rockingham, the Crazy Fun Carnival will be offering unlimited rides and live shows plus cuddly animals, bubble, mini gold, Easter eggs and more. There are two sessions each day and the entry cost covers a three and a half hour session and is all-inclusive.

When: April 13th to 16th, sessions at 9am and 1.30pm
Where: Dixon Road Oval, Rockingham
Cost: Kids $25 plus booking fee, adults $15 plus booking fee

Kids Kerfuffle
Just in case your child still has some energy left, there is the one-day-only Kids Kerfuffle, a fun obstacle course designed especially for kids aged 6-12. While the course must be pre-booked and costs $10 for each half hour timeslot, there will be plenty of free fun and games to be had as well, with activities for the under sixes as well.

When: Saturday 22nd April, 9am-1.30pm

**Big Kids Carnival
**Back again and being held at the Wanneroo Showgrounds, the Big Kids Carnival offers unlimited fun for one entry fee. For kids aged 2 to 14 years, they will enjoy huge four hour sessions with carnival rides, stage shows and more. Get your tickets early as sessions tend to book out.

When: 22nd and 23rd April, 8.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5.30pm
Where: Wanneroo Showgrounds
