The Nelson Bay region is a popular area for families to have a holiday as it has an abundance of natural beauty and
wildlife encounters, which are attractions in themselves. There are also a lot of
fun activities to do for kids around Nelson Bay such as
Irukandji Shark & Ray Encounters, Oakvale Wildlife Park and sand boarding down
Stockton Sand Dunes - just to name a few! It is a great opportunity to get the kids off technology and spend time soaking up the sun in the beautiful Port Stephens region.
Each school holiday, there are also events held to entertain the kids - particularly in the April school holidays when Easter and chocolate are also celebrated! Check out the events listed below, which will keep the whole family entertained...

Shoal Bay Country Club will be having an
Easter Bunny Visit & Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday with free kid's activities from 12-2pm, then live music from 2:30pm. During the school holidays they will also have free kid's activities every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 12 - 2pm with slime making, magic, pony rides, a petting zoo and more! See

Whilst there, why not have lunch upstairs at the

The Marina Market is held on the
Nelson Bay Foreshore and has market stalls, food trucks and live music. Kids love this market as there is a lot of delicious food on offer and the market is held around the
Nelson Bay Playground, so they also get to have a play while parents can sit in the shade. The markets will be held on Friday, 7th April and Saturday, 15th April, between 4pm - 8pm. See

Spirited - A Creative Play Cafe will be having an End of Term Celebration/ Easter Disco & Play on Thursday, 6th April at 5:30pm. They will have DJ Gonz playing the tunes, a new photo booth set up for photos, an Easter Egg Hunt and each child will receive a goodie bag to take home. See

School holiday indoor fun at Spirited Cafe!
Soldiers Point Bowling Club is a popular venue for families, due to its
playground right outside the bistro. Each school holiday they also have Kids Disco and Little Wings Kids' Bingo for members, guests and visitors! This April, the free disco will be held every Sunday night between 5pm - 8pm with music, games and prizes. The Bingo costs $10 per child (including lunch) and will be held each Thursday in the holidays at 10am. See

Tomaree Library (opposite Salamander Bay Square) will be having fun events for the kids with Kym the Reptile Man on 13th April ($10), paper crafts and movies. See

Tomaree Aquatic Centre have a waterslide that is open every weekend and every day in the school holidays, between 12pm - 3pm (check their
Facebook for updates). After you pay the
pool entry price, the waterslide cost is $2.50 per ride or 7 rides for $6.50. There is plenty of shade and food available from the kiosk. See

SPLASH Waterpark is back at Little Nelson Bay for the school holidays! This inflatable obstacle course out on the water is a lot of fun, with 1-hour sessions costing $25. This activity is designed for children and adults, with children aged between 6 and 9 years to be accompanied by a responsible person aged 16 years or older. See
