Logan City boasts a well documented local history and a great diversity of cultural backgrounds and affiliations.

The following list provides information of child-friendly attractions and landmarks of historical and/or cultural significance.

Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum

Open 9:00am-3:00pm daily, entry prices $8 (adults), $6 concessions and $4 (children).%%

Visitors can explore 20 heritage buildings filled with original items used by those who lived in the 1860s and onward. Buildings of particular interest include the original St. George Anglican Church, Beenleigh Council Chambers, Willkie's General Store, the Loganholme One Teacher School and the old Dodge fire engines. Self-guided tours are now available through the hire of MP3 players with narration by members of the Beenleigh Theatre Group.



Logan Village Museum

Open 9:00am-12:00pm daily, entry $2 per person.%%

Located in the Village Green Complex, visitors can view a collection of historic buildings including a school house, teacher's residence, dance hall and the Col Ferguson Cottage. The museum building itself is an historic cottage that was relocated to the site. It houses displays of local artefacts, maps, photographs and historical information.



Mayes Cottage

Open 10:30am-4:00pm, Thursday to Saturday, entry is free.%%

Mayes Cottage is one of the oldest buildings in Logan City. Built in 1887 by the Mayes family, the house and its slab hut, cow shed and dairy are original. The inside of the house has been authentically dressed to showcase the history and lifestyle of this founding family.



Logan City Historical Museum

Open 10:00am-4:00pm daily, entry is free.%%

This museum showcases a collection of local historic photographs and memorabilia. It is located within the Kingston Butter Factory, built in 1932. The refurbished building also houses the Butterbox Theatre, a community arts centre and canteen.

An onsite playground has been constructed, incorporating actual and replica items from the museum collection.



Chung Tian Temple
%%1034 Underwood Road, Priestdale
Open 9:00am-5:00pm, Tuesday to Sunday, gold coin donation entry.%%

Visitors can roam through the grounds and access the temple, gardens and surrounding buildings. These include a museum, art gallery, meditation hall and transcript room.
