An apple a day keeps the doctor away- or so the saying goes. I prefer my own take on the saying - an Applelicious apple a day keeps the doctor away. If you haven't tried an Applelicious apple yet, this saying will become the best excuse you ever had to indulge in gourmet, dessert apples.

It's been nearly a year since Applelicious lauched its online store and its creators live in Adelaide. Born in America, they knew of these goodies way before introducing us Aussies to them, but doesn't everything sinful originate in America (think Krispy Crème and Reece's Peanut Butter Cups).

So what's so good about apples, I hear you ask. These aren't any old apples. Applelicious source the biggest Granny Smith apples I have ever seen from the Adelaide Hills, roll them in sweet, googey caramel, cover or drizzle over white or milk Belgian chocolate and you can choose from a range of toppings including M&M's, desiccated coconut and crushed chocolate bars like Snickers or even Tim Tam biscuits. My favourite is the Cheesecake flavour where the chocolate covered apple is rolled in a cheesecake- flavoured biscuit crumb.

If you're feeling a little sceptical about dessert apples, that is completely natural because this delicious phenomenon has to be tasted to be believed. Try stopping yourself from eating the entire thing in one sitting - I have so far failed at 3 attempts. They are simply unlike anything you have tried and are a great treat to serve up at a dinner party if you want to wow your guests. Just slice into pieces and watch everyone melt in delight.

Now these apples aren't cheap at $12.95 a pop, but if I haven't convinced you enough yet, they are worth every single cent. They can be purchased online (and even be delivered Australia-wide if you have friends in another state who you'd like to make extremely jealous). Payment can be made via credit card (VISA or Mastercard) and shipping takes no more than 2 business days due to the nature of this product. If you live in Adelaide, boy are you lucky, as selected Foodland supermarkets and specialty stores have started stocking them.

You can even purchase gift boxes from the website including apples and other homemade sweets like caramel, tea/coffee or French sugar.

Well what are you waiting for? Get online now to check out the mouth-watering varieties on the website.
