Appin Hotel Bistro

[ADVERT]Being heavily pregnant and with our 4 year old in tow, we wanted to get out of town for a day without going too far.

We were keen for a change of scenery and traversing places we hadn't explored before within easy reach of home.

We headed for Appin, on the outskirts of Campbelltown and it didn't disappoint. The Appin Hotel boasted old, country charm, big hearty meals and a great village atmosphere.

We opted for the schnitzels, which were huge, tender and satisfying. And talk about family friendly - there is an outdoor play area for the kids to run around and lots of space inside the bistro for them to be content, without annoying other people.

If you prefer to watch the world go by, there is an outdoor seating area at the front of the hotel, where the resident elderly dog ( I have heard since visiting, he has sadly died) basks in the sunshine and barely flutters his eyelids.

For a change of pace and somewhere laid back, unhurried, no frills and no fuss the Appin Hotel made for a great short drive to the countryside for a meal.
