After having breakfast with a friend in Manly recently, I took a stroll around the shops to see what interesting businesses could be found. I came across Kelly's Apothecary Botanica located along the Esplanade in Manly.



Kelly has owned the business for approximately eighteen months and has clearly made her stamp on this creative space; a haven for like-minded people who enjoy books, tarot, crystals, homemade beauty products, art, handcrafts, pure essential oils, jewellery, candles, dried herbs, tea and conversation. All crystals have identification cards beside them, so understanding the crystal's properties and benefits can give clarification before purchase.



Other practitioners who use the space in the back room at Kelly's are Lusi – Remedial Massage, Karen – Naturopath, Siri – Tarot Reader, Caitlin – Reiki and Lomi Lomi – Massage. Bookings for these practitioners are to be made through Kelly either in-store or by calling 0457 495 982.

When I walked through the door, I was drawn to the two quaint and comfortable looking chairs and a small table positioned on the left-hand backside of the store. There was a book stand behind these chairs with many different boxed sets of cards; anything from the usual Tarot to Goddess, Crystal, Fairy, White Light Oracle, Astrology Cards, Beyond Lemuria Oracle Cards and many more. A few sets were open on the table, and I thought this was an exceptionally good idea for the customer to sit and read before deciding which set to purchase.



Although not entering Apothecary Botanica with the intention to purchase, my attention was guided towards a set of Iris Oracle Cards by Alana Fairchild , and of particular interest to the meditations suggested to do, after choosing certain cards from the pack.

Kelly was telling me that the jewellery she chooses for the shop merchandise is of top quality and you can definitely see this in the artisanship and design. Kelly's goal is to purchase items from local craftspeople, thereby displaying the talent we have in our community.



The skincare range for purchase is 'Garden of Grace'. Founded by a mother who had a deep respect for nature and our bodies, Garden of Grace has used the purest of ingredients to provide a range of beautiful chemical-free skincare to rejuvenate and nourish your skin.



For those who wish to energise their home and workspace, there are plenty of rough and/or polished crystals to choose from, along with books on the subject and sage or other herbs for clearing. Sage can be purchased in stick form or loose, depending on your purpose of use and if you are into making your own perfumes, oils and sprays, you can purchase varied sizes of bottles and oils too. Any of the items in store can be purchased online, so there is no need to make a trek over to Manly if you do not live nearby.



Another thing that makes this shop interesting is the stray cat named Bastet, named after a Goddess of Ancient Egypt , who chose this shop as her home and never left. She lives there every day, even wandering around inside once shop hours are over, with food, water and bedding left for her comfort. Animals choose people they wish to be around, and this shop obviously has the right vibe for Bastet's residence.
