Situated part way along the Great Ocean Road, and sheltered from the predominant southwesterly winds, the township of Apollo Bay is an ideal spot for overnight stays for those touring the Great Ocean Road, or a great waterside destination in its own right.
The safe harbour and safe beach gives rise to many water activities, while the shops and cafes along the main strip provide plenty of food and souvenir choices. The town is also host to several hotels, numerous holiday homes, a caravan park and a backpackers hostel.
Information on the town, and the surrounding hills and rainforests of the Otway National Park, can be found online or at the Apollo Bay Visitor Information Centre on the beach side of the Main Street.
