Aperitivo Italian Style
Aperitivo Bars, while common in Italy, are not really a "thing" here, with only a handful of places offering this Italian tradition in Sydney - for an hour if you are lucky. I myself was blown away by the array of seriously good food on offer in Italy - temptingly set up on their bar counters - which you can help yourself to simply by purchasing a drink.
In Sydney, you are lucky to get a free olive with your drink, but Melbourne has it all going on and this is
one place you simply must visit, at the very least,
every Sunday. I'm talking about the
Sig. Enzo Aperitivo Bar.

$20 gets you all this, all afternoon, plus a drink and music
If you like your aperitivo to last more than an hour, this superb little place in Melbourne heaps on the wow factor with their
Aperitivo Sunday. Held at the
Sig. Enzo Aperitivo Bar situated at 1d Michael Street
Brunswick, this bar is a dream come to fruition for
restaurateur Vince Mazzone, and his epic little wine bar offers you more than just a taste of the Italian style Aperitivo.

Enjoy drinks, loads of food and Italian music on the turntable every Sunday
Aperitivo Sunday kicks off at
Sig. Enzo at
2.30pm (until 6pm) and just
$20pp gets you
a drink plus
a feast of seasonal dishes all freshly cooked on the day by their
Sicilian Chef Lorena.
Topped up hourly and
available all afternoon, some of the yummy things you can enjoy include salumi, cheeses, pasta salad, cous cous salad, frittata, crostini (with toppings such as 'nduja/eggplant/parmesan and truffle), pizza and zucchini sticks with goats cheese.
Food, drinks, family and friends, throw in a
turntable spinning some
old school Italian tunes and, what more could one ask for on a lazy Sunday arvo?
