Lest We Forget
Each Year Anzac Day marks a solemn day of remembrance, gratitude and national pride. Ceremonies will be held all over Australia and New Zealand on Friday 25th April, 2014, and each state has its own observances. Here in Perth there are many ANZAC Day events that you can attend.
The annual Perth Anzac Day Dawn Service will take place at the State War Memorial in Kings Park and will start at 6am. The event will include a showing of archival footage, which will play on eight large screens from 4.30am.
The ANZAC Day Parade will begin at 9.30am, followed by the Memorial Service in Supreme Court Gardens at 11am.
In Fremantle the annual Memorial Dawn Service will be held at the Monument Hill War Memorial, starting at 5.30am. The ANZAC Day Parade sets off at 10.15pm from Esplanade Park and will make its way through the streets of Fremantle, returning to Esplanade Park for a closing ceremony, flag raising ceremony and fly past.
In the Fremantle Town Hall, the ANZAC Day Commemorative Exhibition, will showcase unique items from public and private collections. This exhibition is free to the public and will be open on ANZAC Day between 8.00 am and 3.00 pm.
A free ANZAC Day morning tea will be served just outside the Fremantle Town Hall between 9.00am and 12.00 noon, available from the Cafe2U mobile food van.

The annual Sir Hughie Edwards ANZAC Day Derby game between South Fremantle and East Fremantle will be played at East Fremantle Oval. A pre-game ceremony starts at 1pm and the game kicks off at 3.00pm.
Those wearing military uniform or medals will be permitted free entry into the game.
The City of South Perth along with the South Perth RSL, will be holding an ANZAC Day Service in the South Perth Memorial Gardens, commencing at 7.15am. The community is invited to join the Service by laying a floral tribute in honour of fallen soldiers and to pay their respects.
The Town of Claremont in conjunction with the Claremont RSL will conduct its annual ANZAC Day Ceremony at 7.30am at the Claremont War Memorial. Following the ceremony, a free breakfast and some entertainment by the Claremont Concert Band will be provided at the Claremont Bowling Club.
The City of Nedlands in partnership with the RSL will be holding an ANZAC Day service at the Nedlands War Memorial, starting at 9am. The public is invited to join in remembering our fallen heroes on ANZAC Day.
The City of Armadale will be holding an ANZAC Day Dawn Service followed by Gunfire Breakfast and Lunch at the Armadale RSL. There will also be a service at Dale Cottages for Residents.
The Town of Bassendean will be holding an ANZAC Day Parade and Service on ANZAC day, at the Bassendean War Memorial, starting at 11am.
To commemorate ANZAC Day, the City of Vincent. in partnership with the Mount Hawthorn RSL, will be holding a service at Axford Park, in Mount Hawthorn, commencing at 11am. The whole community is invited to attend and lay flowers or wreaths on the City's ANZAC memorial. Some light refreshments will be served after the service.
To honour all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation, the City of Canning in cooperation with the Canning Districts/Victoria Park RSL Club will be holding a reflective ceremony on ANZAC Day. The ceremony starts with a parade from the Canning Town Hall at 8am and proceeds to the War Memorial for the official ceremony.
The City of Cockburn and the Cockburn RSL will host a Dawn Service followed by a Gunfire Breakfast, at Memorial Hall. The ANZAC Day March and Service will commence at approximately 10am and will be followed by a Luncheon.
The City of Subiaco, invites community members to attend ANZAC Day services. A service will be conducted by the Shenton Park RSL, at the Shenton Park Community Centre, at 7am, followed by a morning tea. Subiaco RSL, will hold a service at the Fallen Soldiers Memorial at 8.30am and a morning tea at the Subiaco Community Centre.
