Now being someone who loves a good thrift, I can say I have stumbled across a little hidden gem.
Not only does this particular place cater for people like myself, a vintage and designer clothes thrifter, but it also caters for the entire family.
Where is this little gem you wonder? Well, let me tell you...
Antonio Park Primary School Fete in Mitcham is where!
I have attended this fete year after year, and each year is better than the next.
Let's turn our backs on the family friendly fun of the fete for a mere moment and focus on the thrifters dream.
A 'Second-hand clothes' stall with prices starting at 50c and a range of women's, men's, and kids clothes that will keep your eager eye occupied for hours, scouring the racks for that next amazing find. Not only clothes are there to be snatched up, but also handbags, shoes and other accessories. You could easily fill a bag or a wardrobe for lose change.
But wait! There's more!
For the family conscious thrifter. Let's not forget the little ones. An ever popular 'Second-hand Toy' stall is a great place to pick up some cheap toys and games at prices that cannot be beat. The kids can rummage through the endless piles and crammed tables of toys, their eyes wide with excitement, and you can rest easily knowing that no toy would be more than a couple of dollars.
But wait! There's STILL more!
Lastly, a lovely little place to take yourself away for a while.....
The 'Second hand book' Stall. Emerge yourself amongst all the titles, vintage classics and piles of magazines. Add to your novel collection or have the kids pick out a new night time story. Endless options, and always a bargain.
