Not heading up or down the coast for the Labour Day long weekend ?

Don't feel bad - Brisbane is awash with some great activities to keep you entertained and there should be minimal traffic issues to boot.

In my local area, the Redlands, we have the Antiques and Collectable Fair being held at the PCYC Complex in Capalaba.

I recently reconnected with a lass I attended primary school over 50 years ago. When we eventually caught up at my home for a casual lunch and a chat the first thing this girl did was go through my dinnerware cabinet and look at the pottery markings on the bottom of each piece.

At first I was shocked, though this abated when she explained her many years of collecting china and jewellry as well as market trading.

Personally, antiques are not my thing. However, I do have a passion for a particular genre of old books and often find the chase every bit as rewarding as the reading.

For this reason, I will be attending the Antiques and Collectable Fair, and also because my daughter collects Bing Crosby L P records.

Doors open on Saturday 3rd October 9am - 4pm
Sunday, 4th October 9am - 4pm
Monday, 5th October 9am - 1pm

Entry fee is $8, children u/14 free

Food is available for purchase (info courtesy aussiefairs.com)

Many Exhibitors are gathering to showcase products such as pottery, jewellry, coins and memorabilia. We are talking a vast period of Collectables covering Antique, Vintage and Retro and this Fair promises the opportunity to purchase quality and unique wares.

If antiques are your thing I believe there will also be the opportunity to gain further knowledge via a Workshop about the history of Moorcroft ceramics and how the beautiful pieces are made.

The PCYC Complex is on the corner of Mt Cotton and Degan Roads, Capalaba.Parking is plentiful.

Do you think I will find a copy of Beam Ends by Errol Flynn ? If you spot it let me know.
