Antiques and Collectables Expo

Home > Melbourne > Exhibitions
Event:
The Antiques and Collectables Expo offers a fabulous chance to browse, purchase and sell valued items of antiquity and collectables. Organised in the beautiful surrounds of Maryborough, Victoria, the Expo will be held on November 13 (Saturday) and 14 (Sunday), 2010.

Collectors and dealers from all over Australia will be displaying their goods. Some of the items for sale and on display include books, charts and maps from the gold rush era, stamps, coins, old bottles, postcards, furniture, bric-a-brac, models, dolls et al.

If you're interested in displaying your wares or need further information about the expo, you can contact Regional Learning Services Australia at 03 5460 5555. The expo will be on from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., both days.

For regular browsers, there is a $5 entry fee.

It's also a great time in spring to visit the picturesque City of Maryborough situated in the pastoral and goldmining region of Central Victoria. Apart from great wine and food, there is much to do in the region.

Try your luck at fossicking and see if you can dig out a gold nugget to take home. But keep in mind that prospecting is permitted only in specific areas and you need to obtain a Miners Right first. There are guided tours available too.

Take a ride aboard the vintage steam train, or visit the various galleries and museums, or explore Frank McCallum's (alias Captain Melville) cave, where he hid when he was a bushranger.

Situated between the Pyrenees and Macedon wine regions, Maryborough is also famous for great wines, wineries, and scrumptious food.
