A joyous celebration of Greek cuisine and music
The Greek precinct in Melbourne CBD will transform into a huge, free street festival with the hosting of the Antipodes Lonsdale Street Festival which will hold sway from 14 February 2015 to 15 February 2015.
The Antipodes Lonsdale Street Festival is one of the most prestigious events of the year for the Greek community. Bigger and better than ever, this year the Antipodes Festival will be a jubilant congregation of talented local and international performers with a wide array of kid's activities and a debauchery of tantalising Greek cuisine. It will be a full weekend of celebrations of everything Greek with near and dear ones.
This year's festival will feature the Barbaresso Oyzo pop-up bar, a huge shark slide and other carnival rides, the Flavours of Greece market, cooking demonstrations and Greek Karaoke. There will be a Zorba 'Til You Drop competition on the main stage at the Lonsdale Street Festival on 14 February 2015. There will be a fantastic prize for the winner - one fully paid return economy flight to Athens. Furthermore, the Flavours of Greece market will be an excellent place to pick up delightful souvenirs for family and friends.
Delectable food is an integral part of Greek culture so unsurprisingly, a prominent part of the Antipodes Lonsdale Street Festival will be numerous Greek food stalls and food trucks tempting your nostrils and tastebuds. Grab some tasty treats and kick back with some drinks from the pop-up bar and allow yourself to be entertained by the live entertainment.
The setting of this vibrant festival will be the Greek precinct located at 168 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne CBD. The festival will run from noon to late night over the festival weekend. Discover more information by visiting this website and also by clicking here.
