If seeing the stunning and pristine landscape of Antarctica has been on your bucket list, you're in luck as one day flights have been announced for the upcoming summer months to allow you to tick it off your once-in-a-lifetime list.

Flights are held in conjunction with Qantas and depart on a variety of dates depending on your departure city with the Melbourne flight departing on February 15, 2015.

The specially chartered flight is the only way to see Antarctica in one day and will allow you a sightseeing opportunity inclusive of icebergs, coastal cliffs, glaciers and the spectacular landscape Antarctica is renowned for.

Phil Asker, founder and director of Antarctica Flights, the length of time that travelers spend sailing through rough seas and the high cost of an Antarctica cruise means that most people will only ever be able to see this vast wilderness on their televisions.

These tours, he says, enable more people to fulfill what for many is a once in a lifetime dream of seeing this part of the world.

The landscape is viewed from the aircraft in comfort (and warmth) and expert Antarctic expeditioners are on hand to answer questions and share their knowledge about the environment and life on the ground.

For 20 years, Antarctica Flights has taken more than 31,000 passengers on over 110 flights across the Antarctic.

Antarctica flights take approximately four hours to reach the South Magnetic Pole, descending over spectacular sea ice and icebergs and crossing the Antarctic coast near the French research base at Dumont d'Urville.

From there the aircraft flies over glaciers and ice fields before continuing to Cape Hudson and Cape Washington and the majestic Trans Antarctic Range.

Up to 19 different routes are available to take advantage of the clearest weather conditions of the day, ensuring the best possible views of the Antarctic landscape.

Melbourne flight departs on February 15, 2015. Alternative cities depart as listed below:

31 Dec 2014 – New Years Eve Sydney only
18 Jan 2015 – Brisbane
26 Jan 2015 – Perth
8 Feb 2015 – Adelaide

Prices begin at $1,199 for Economy Class Centre and range to $7,999 for Ice Class.
