A haven located on the hill of Beach Street in Coogee is , serving authentic and fresh Italian food with incredible value.

Nestled on a small strip of restaurants well away from the chaos of Coogee Bay Road, and a short walk up from the North end of Coogee Beach, is hidden from the masses but once it is discovered, it will no longer be Coogee's best kept secret.

The restaurant is relaxed and modern, with a welcoming and fresh feel. It has a beautiful stacked stone feature wall and has large sliding doors at the front which open up to allow in the fresh and calming evening sea breeze from the beach. The owner is charming, friendly and loves a chat with his customers, adding to the nice ambiance of Annie's.

Delivering tasty Italian food and great service, this eatery is everything you would expect and more, especially given its small size. However, what really seals the deal is the amazing prices offered to diners in the form of their Set Menu Specials.

For a minimum of two persons, patrons can indulge in the $25 three course set menu which offers a selection of entrées such as grilled halloumi, bruschetta and other favourites, to be followed by either a pizza or pasta dish and Ice-cream for dessert.

In addition, the restaurant is fully BYO meaning you can bring your favourite tipple whether it be beer or wine or both, adding to the extraordinary savings generated by dining at this great place.

The halloumi entrée was generous with several slices of char-grilled high quality cheese, served over a bed of baby spinach, and drizzled with lemon and oil.

The capriciosa pizza was also decently sized, with good servings of topping which includes, cheese, olives, ham, mushroom and capsicum.

In terms of pasta, the fettuccini with mushroom, chicken, mango and cashew nuts, served in cream sauce, was absolutely divine. It offered original flavours which were unique and delicious.

Dessert was a simple and perfect end to our meal, being vanilla ice-cream with a choice of toppings, which in this case was caramel. Other desserts are available, which are not on the $25 set menu, included tiramisu, ricotta tart and the Nutella pizza.

There are other set menus available, with a larger selection of dishes to choose from at a price of $35 or $45 per head, and this is suitable for groups of 12 or more.

There is no need to feel obligated to order the set menu as the À la carte menu is huge, with plenty of great options to choose from, which are also well priced. The simple menu of antipasti, pizzas, pastas, risotto, salads, meats and fish caters to every eater, and the in-house blackboard also has a few of signature specials dishes as well.

Other dinner specials are offered throughout the week, including Wednesday and Thursdays with $12 pizzas and $14 pastas.

I don't know who Annie is but I commend her on offering one of the best local Italian restaurants I have been to, with exceptional food and value for money - which in Sydney is a rare find.
