The Adelaide Youth Theatre Company presents their version of the 1977 musical 'Annie'. A musical that originally ran for six years, it's the story of eleven year of Annie's 'Hard Knock Life' in the orphanage and her epic journey to be adopted. Annie the Musical with be running at The Royalty Theatre for three days from January 23th until January 25th.
Adapted from the book by Thomas Meehan, Annie is a broadway musical with music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin. It won Tony Awards for: Best Musical, Best Original Score and Best Book.
It's the story of a young red-headed orphan who lives in a New York Orphanage ran by the child-hating Miss Hannigan. Annie isn't happy and when the chance to spend two weeks with the wealthy Mr Warbucks falls into her lap, she jumps on the chance to feel normal and the chance to have a family for Christmas.
