Relax far from the madding crowds in Annerley's bookshop
Imagine a little place in the middle of a bustling shopping strip where you can sit on a comfy couch and read a good book. Nobody will bother you but you can choose to chat to other people who are seeking a little bit of solace away from the traffic and hub-bub of Ipswich Road. There are books for you to purchase and you're even invited to bring the kids to play in the children's reading corner. Doesn't that sound nice? That's exactly how it is at the Annerley Community Bookshop.
The shop operates on donations from the community and has around 50 volunteers which staff it over the month. They are a not for profit association and look after many community groups in the suburb. On the first Thursday of each month you will find the Annerley History Group, the first and third Wednesdays are the Junction Yarn Jammers who knit and crochet with anyone who wants to join them.
So next time you're in Annerley and you just want a quiet nook to read and relax, pop in and see the lovely staff at the Annerley Community Bookshop. You will feel instantly relaxed and at home as you sink into a comfy couch.
