Five free things to do with the family at Annabelle Park
Forget the playroom at the fast-food joint. Get your coffee takeaway and let the kids burn off their energy at Annabelle Park. The top five activities at Annabelle Park are all free and they're fun too. You can go walking, ride the BMX track, shoot hoops, jump and play on the play forts and cook up a picnic lunch on the BBQ. It's the complete family outing in a relaxed natural setting. The recent upgrade really has made this a park with something for all ages and interests.
Set amongst the rustling trees of the Ipswich suburb of Bellbird Park, this park has become a popular playgroup and birthday party spot. It is also a handy place for getting the kids outside when they are bouncing off the walls.
A map shows the features of the park and the pathway where the whole family can get active on their bikes on the BMX trail or enjoying walking tracks through bushland surroundings and reading the wildlife and nature information signs.
There is a regular playset with a climbing web, fort and slides and also a separate playset for the junior adventurers. If the bigger kids are with you, simply point them towards the basketball hoop and halfcourt.
The whole park is surrounded by native trees which provide welcome shade on hot days. There is also a shaded seating area with a BBQ and drinking water. The only downside is there are no toilets on site.
