If you need a violin (or a viola, cello or double base) for your child then you have to visit Animato in Brisbane. Our trip to the city, to buy two violins, was a memorable one. The advice we received, combined with the time for fitting and discussing options was great and a breath of fresh air – service, information, time - wonderful. The shop had an old world feel, with instruments lining the walls and hanging in every space available.

The violins were played for us by Dietrich Lasa (Founder & Director of Animato) who is a professional string player, to demonstrate what the instruments were capable of. With 40 years experience, as a performer and string player, he was able to coax the best from the violins we were looking at. The tentative squeaks our beginners were producing at that time, did not do the instruments justice and offered the rest of the family hope that some day they may sound just as fabulous.
