The word 'Angelos' may bring up different emotions and ideas for different people. It may make you think of a friend with that name. It perhaps would make you think about a sexy Spanish man. For me? It makes my mouth water and my taste buds tingle. Why? Angelo's is a restaurant. A beautiful Portuguese restaurant with food and atmosphere that will make you want to dig into your pockets and splurge there every night. It is perhaps my favourite restaurant at the moment and whenever there is cause for celebration, I am always the first to scream "Let's go to Angelo's".

Angelo's is renowned for its delectable and tasty Portuguese style chicken. However, there are plenty of options for all you seafood and red meat die-hards. Alas, if you're vegetarian there may not be much variety for you and for that, I am truly sorry because you truly are missing out on an incredible restaurant and meal.

Dimly lit with gorgeous South-American inspired decor, the ambience at Angelo's cannot be beaten. Every night and any night it is backed to the brim with happy diners basking in a post-alcoholic beverage glow. The waiters are friendly, sporting beautiful South American accents which make you swoon before even having a sip of wine. If you want to leave a restaurant feeling full, happy and with not too big a hole in your wallet, Angelo's is your place to go.

Now, as always, the most important part: the food. Without fail, whenever I eat at Angelo's you will always, and I mean always, find me eating the same entree and the same dessert. My main meal constantly changes because whilst I do not have a favourite, there are just so many choices you really do want to try something different every time.

For starters, the best dish Angelo's has and as a little secret - is a big reason I go to Angelo's - are the garlic mushrooms followed closely by the chicken chorizo. The sauce on the mushrooms has a gorgeous powerful garlic burst yet somehow it's not too overpowering. The sauce is velvety and has a great smooth consistency - never gluggy or watery. I have been known on multiple occasions to literally drink the left over sauce once the mushrooms have been devoured - $12.90.

The BBQ chicken chorizo are a close second, tangy and juicy with a nice bite to it. Coupled with some olive, pickles and cauliflower and you've got yourself a great starter dish the whole table can enjoy - $13.90.

For a main this time I went for Angelo's famous Charcoal BBQ Chicken. Flamed grilled over open charcoal is just terrific. The pluses: the chicken is succulent, with beautiful spices and herbs rubbed all over it. The down side: that's all you get. No potato, chips or salad so they come at an extra cost. It's definitely worth it - $13.90 (half a chicken).

Apart from the garlic mushrooms, Angelo's famous dessert is the reason I always choose to eat there. It's called the Don Pedro and is advertised as the dessert of Kings and Queens and by George is it ever. Ice-cream blended with khalua and Irish whiskey topped with Belgian chocolate sprinkles in a wine glass is possibly the greatest food invention ever. And I mean ever. It's worth hopping off the diet band wagon if you happen to be on one - $13.90.

So, get booking dear readers.
