Fresh baguettes, amazing cakes, great drinks and some quiet
A tiny piece of Paris amidst the chaos of Bali. Angelita's will have you thinking you have stepped straight into a storybook.
Nothing could be further removed from the location than the interior of Angelita's. Whilst the outside of Jalan Legian is a mad chaos of broken roads, trucks spewing out exhaust, hundreds of motorbikes and generally noisy madness mixed with heat and humidity, venture up far enough into Seminyak and you may notice a tiny building on the left sitting like a tiny English cottage with gold writing discreetly announcing your arrival.
As you step inside Angelita's, you are instantly embraced in a cool freshness; the relief of the air con is welcoming, but as you gaze around at the bright white and pale blue decor a sense of serenity washes over you.
The furnishings are elegant and fun with some large bamboo king and queen chairs or the more discreet white tables and chairs. Attention to detail here is beautiful, with lovely little sayings set around the cafe.
However what will delight you is the long cabinets filled with so many sweet delights. The cakes are amazing and from the few we chose, every bit as good as they all look. Your most difficult part will be in the choosing.
Cakes or sweet treats chosen, you may think your big decisions are over, but not so as you are handed a drinks menu. Their apple mojitos are perfect to refresh on a hot day, their coffee is great and the selection of teas is just lovely.
If you really find yourself struggling to choose, perhaps opt for their high tea option. For 250,000rp for 2 people ($25) they will serve you a lavish high tea in beautiful style, including a selection of mini quiches, sandwiches, cakes, cookies and scones with jam and cream (subject to change depending on available options).
For take homes or souvenirs they have a good selection of breads and jars of cookies.
