
Trail along old railway track
The Angaston to Nuriootpa Rail Trail is a popular walking and cycling trail with both locals and visitors. This is a 7 kilometres trail that starts at Sturt Street (off Barossa Way), in Angaston and ends at South Terrace, Nuriootpa. Opened in 2010, this is a high-quality trail with a smooth bitumen surface and is perfect for cycling or walking.

The trail follows the old railway line and at the Angaston end, you will see the old railway station transformed into a beautiful playground called the Barossa Adventure Station.

Seat to rest
Along the way, you will be treated to beautiful views of the Barossa Valley including high embankments and shady trees. There are also sculptures and interpretative signs along the trail, telling the rich history of the Barossa Valley. Also at intervals, there are seats to rest and enjoy the view.

The trail is wider than typical paths but always remember to keep left either cycling or walking and pedestrians have right of way.
