Angas Gardens in Adelaide's Park Lands are a hot spot for a BBQ lunch in the heart of the city. This picnic area on the Northern banks of the River Torrens hosts two electric BBQs, with an idyllic view across the Torrens for the cook.
Cook's view of the River Torrens
Just west of the footbridge between War Memorial Drive and Victoria Drive, the BBQs are easily accessible with plenty of nearby parking. A park bench is positioned beautifully under a large oak tree for those who want to stay out of the sun. The central picnic table provides room for six, but there's also plenty of surrounding grass to stretch out on.
The electric BBQs are easy to use at the push of a button. The two barbecue hotplates are covered and facilities also include a nearby bin. However there are no toilets or taps in the immediate area.
Thanks for the tip, great spot.
Since over half the people couldn't find it, will have to go somewhere else next time. There no signs signalling Angas Park or BBQ area from the road and this was a problem.
