The Foundry is dedicated to supporting a thriving local music scene in Brisbane. The great live performance space is also supported by a great bar, with open air areas and of course a pool table. Downstairs is Foundry Records, which is not only the place to go in The Valley for those who like their music on vinyl discs, but also where you can get a coffee, drink or light meal before the doors to the bar open.
Many people try to pigeon hole Andy Ward as an electronic artist, as these are his roots, especially with his first songs that come to light through Triple J Unearthed. However his multi-instrumental background, classic musical training and his latest song, "Let Me Down" demonstrates how he has matured as an artist over the last year.
His performances are renowned for their visual imagery as well as fantastic music. For Andy, everything is about the performance and the experience of the night. He will be joined live by a band, rounding out this evening's performance into a great musical experience.
Also performing on the night is Sky Neil. Inspired by punk, but with a heart of melting gold, this beautiful performer writes and performs great indie pop music with a raw exposed edge that most indie artists put too much effort into hiding.
With 3 great upcoming Brisbane based artists and guests, this is going to be a great night of cool music. What's more, Andy Ward is more than just a musician but a great performing artist which makes it worth heading out on a Thursday night to see.
