Santa isn't the only one delivering this Christmas
Christmas is fast upon us and the weekends are getting busier and busier. It is getting harder to find time to get the essentials done. I gave Andy & Ted's Fresh Produce a trial and placed an order for a Family Box.
The family box allows you to pick 15 items - an item being 5 bananas, a bag of snowpeas (approx 200gm), half a watermelon, a whole rockmelon and so on. See here for items and quantities.
The website is very easy to use, just click through the menu items then scroll down the list.
We only ordered fruit and vegetables but they have pasta and tinned food too, so you could prepare an entire meal from what was delivered, depending on what you ordered.
The produce is all local and organic where possible, and what arrived was fresh and ready to eat (no waiting a week before the pears were ripe!). The box is reusable, and paper bags used instead of plastic, so there's a minimum of waste and bags involved.
They also have a rewards programme, if you order 5 times, you recieve $20 off the next order!
The best part for me, is that it doesn't have to be a standing order. You can order as frequently or randomly as you like. I'll be using this over the holiday season for the weekends when we are busy, to free up some time.
Last Saturday, instead of standing in line with the crowds at the supermarket, I managed to squeeze in a movie before guests turned up for dinner - and that is what the weekends are really for!
