One of the World's Best Known Violinists, Andre Rieu
Andre Rieu is known around the world for his spectacular and beautiful productions and is considered to be the King of the Waltz'. The concerts feature dancing in the aisles and up and coming young stars, including Queensland's own Mirusia. In this live satellite broadcast, the violinist and conductor will be joined by his hand-picked Johann Strauss Orchestra and accompanied by sopranos, tenors and other special guests in front of an audience of thousands. The program will be introduced by CinemaLive host Charlotte Hawkins and she'll also be conducting an interview with Andre after the concert.

The concert is staged in the centre of Maastricht in the historic Vrijthof Square. The Vrijthof Square is big and lively, and is one of the most famous squares in Holland. On one side of the square you can see some of the finest buildings in Maastricht, like the St Servaas Church and the St Jans Church while on the opposite side there is a row of eating and drinking establishments. This is a fitting venue for this concert which will include waltzes and classical music along with selections from operettas and musicals... an evening you won't be able to forget.
There will be two screenings, at 12pm and 4pm, with sessions in both VMax and Gold Class Cinemas. By attending a Gold Class session you could really get into the spirit and sip a glass of bubbly while enjoying the beautiful music. Tickets cost $40 for VMax cinemas and $60 for Gold Class Screenings and sessions are available at the Myer Centre, Carindale and Garden City Cinemas. You can see a trailer for the concert here.
