Once they were at the top of their game, the news team to take on Spanish News and win, the team whose hair was always in place and whatever they said was gold; unfortunately for Ron and his companions, those days are over.
Following a series of events which, of course, Ron definitely played no part in, the once popular anchorman finds himself out of work and down on his luck.
When the offer of working on a revolutionary new style of news channel plus the promise of money is put to Ron, he is determined to reunite him team and take them to the top once more.
What follows are terrible jokes, hilarious scenes and it wouldn't be an Anchorman movie if it didn't contain politically incorrect jokes.
Sequels are always dangerous, they are highly anticipated by fans who expect a lot and therefore have to live up to the legend created by the first movie. Heading into the movie theatre I was a little sceptical around whether the second movie would pull it off.
My husband and I have watched Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy a few too many times and therefore had high expectations. I would venture so far as to say I liked this movie better than the first. The characters were hilarious, the scenes well done and the jokes, although possibly more obviously crude, had the whole cinema laughing.
So I say, for those die hard fans (I'll put my hand up) and those a little unsure or even new to the franchise, this movie is worth a look, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
As with the first movie, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is not appropriate for children but adults will have a good laugh.
Stay classy, get a perm and keep an eye out for all the cameos and cheesiest scenes you will most likely see in a movie this year.
