For those familiar with the Balmain restaurant Efendy, you will not be surprised that this Turkish Restaurant is offering sensational food without a kebab in sight.



The first restaurant to open on the waterfront of Barangaroo, this chic yet laid back patio vibe offers the perfect location for a long lunch in the sunshine.

The menu is a la carte, but designed for sharing or the Bosphorus Feast offers great value at $65 a head and you won't be left hungry.

We went with the feast, and while everything was delicious, there were a few stand-outs that deserve a detailed mention.



The cured salmon pastrima is a dish that takes 36 hours to prepare. The fresh salmon is cured on site, and the result is gentle flavours on a fish that virtually melts in your mouth.


The other stand out for me was the lamb shoulder with feekah, hung yoghurt and a jus. The meat was so tender and fell off the bone, yet there was a slight serve of crackling. All plates were devoured and not a shred of this dish was left.



The Turkish delight is well worth a mention too, and those with a fussy palate when it comes to this delicacy will be delighted.



The wine list includes a number of wines from Turkey, and there's a big offering in beers too. I stuck with the Watermelon Mint Cooler, as the cocktail just seemed perfect for our sunny afternoon festivities.



Bookings are advisable as the restaurant is understandably busy.
