In the mood for a gripping thriller? Perhaps you'd prefer something more serious and thought-provoking? Good news – Nambour Lind Lane Theatre Inc is presenting the great classic play,
An Inspector Calls by J.B.Priestley. It combines edge of the seat drama with a challenging message that will have audiences talking long after they leave the theatre.
Known affectionately as The Lind, this state of the art theatre has
roots going back to the nineteen-forties. Situated in the heart of
Nambour at 16 Mitchell Street, it has become a hub for live theatre in the region, and will also host the Sunshine Coast Theatre Fest this August.
In the play, a young working class woman has died, and the unsettling Inspector Goole arrives at the home of the wealthy and respectable Birling family to ask some questions. The Birlings are understandably taken aback. Who is Eva Smith, and what can they possibly have to do with her death?
An Inspector Calls takes place in the Spring of 1912 – at exactly the same moment in history in which the first episode of
Downton Abbey is set. Lovers of period drama will not want to miss this play.
Director Joy Hinckley has assembled a talented and experienced cast from across the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland. Together they bring to life this famous masterwork by one of the twentieth century's greatest authors."
J.B. Priestley is one of our literary icons of the 20th Century. And it is time that we all became re-acquainted with his genius." - Dame Judi Dench
An Inspector Calls opens 27 July at 7:30 and continues till 4 August at Lind Lane Theatre, 16 Mitchell St, Nambour. Bookings online via
