Rain bombs are real and you need to know about them
Former US Vice President Al Gore (Futurama & 30 Rock) is back and he's more determined than ever to help us all rise up and change the world for the better - before it is too late!

If you only watch one documentary this year, make sure it's this

Brilliantly directed by Bonni Cohen (Meet Me In Miami Beach & Audrie & Daisy) and Jon Shenk (Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace & Lost Boys of Sudan), who not only focus on the issue of climate change, but also help us to see a little into the everyday life of Al Gore, this much anticipated sequel to the astonishing documentary An Inconvenient Truth, shows what he and his crew have been up to since 2006.

The documentary takes a look back to some of the main warnings listed in the original film and how those predictions have come true today and most alarmingly, how they will continue to wreak havoc on the entire planet in ways we will not be prepared for, unless we do something to stop it now.

For those of you who are interested in space exploration and NASA, the full and adequately frustrating story behind the "DSCOVR" Satellite is completely unveiled and it is one worth knowing about!

During the course of the film, we learn how climate change is causing storms themselves to change, resulting in stronger hurricanes and tornadoes, as well as a new and terrifying phenomenon, only known as rain bombs, which are now ravaging parts of America and the rest of the world, causing devastating floods. The ice caps are melting and contributing to many low lying cities and islands across the world to flood and it is only a matter of time before our pumps give out and we cannot keep on renovating and rebuilding everything higher.

These messages really hit home as Al and his brave film crew travel across the world to interview people who are witnessing it all first hand, from scientific researchers in Greenland, all the way to the Philippines, to speak with the survivors of the Tacloban tragedy of Typhoon Haiyan in 2013. Climate change enhanced Typhoon Haiyan and at the time it was the strongest storm in recorded history to make landfall - it tore through the city with speeds of 195mph, along with a devastating series of tidal waves, which ripped up farms, leveled entire suburbs and left more than 6,300 men, women and children dead, some of whom were never recovered.

The most interesting thing was when Al meets up with a Republican Mayor, in Georgetown, Texas, who has made the decision to completely move his city to 100 percent renewable energy, which is not something that is common within the Republican party.

This brilliant man looked at all the facts which were presented to him, in a non-biased manner and due to renewable energy being much more cost effective to generate and the fact that he could help save the local environment and potentially prevent some serious damage to his city, he has made an incredible impact on the world.

As the film progresses, we see all the fantastic programs which Al Gore has started to help educate people across the world in making a difference and how to survive when a disaster hits. We also see everything he has done to change the direction of the ways in which India was going to resource its electricity, as well as the incredibly touching and brave way he handled postponing the climate change conference in Paris, following a horrific terrorist attack on the city.

No matter where you stand on this issue, I encourage all of you to put your biases aside and go see this documentary for yourselves, before passing judgement of what it has to say.

An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power is rated PG, as it contains mild themes.

10/10
