Spend an evening in conversation with New York Times Bestselling Author Tara Westover and Saint Mary's College President Katie Conboy ONLINE on Wednesday 16 September 2020 from 5-7pm Please note that the 5pm event time is Eastern Daylight Time. Hosted by The Brain Lair Bookstore and presented by the Saint Mary's College Department of Humanistic Studies as this year's Christian Culture Lecture, Dr Westover will be discussing her memoir EDUCATED along with a Q&A session. If you have questions to ask, SUBMIT IT HERE by Friday 21 August to receive full consideration. Each year, St Mary's presents a preeminent figure in the humanities at the Lecture to explore some aspect of the Christian dimension of culture.

Tara Westover is an American author born in Idaho to a father opposed to public education and never attended school. A self-taught herbalist and midwife, her older brother taught her to read. Her education was erratic and incomplete and she set foot in a classroom for the first time at the age of 17. Her book Educated debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and remaining on the list for more than a year. It was also a finalist for a number of awards, and to date has sold more than 3 million copies and is expected to be translated into 36 languages.
