'Fantasy Man' Fielding is set to Delight Brisbane

Since the late 1990s Noel Fielding has been entertaining audiences with his unique brand of surreal comedy. Handmade props, hilarious musical numbers, characters you'd expect to find in cartoons inspired by 1960s psychedelic acid trips and fantastic hair and clothing are the trademarks of every Fielding show. From his solo stand-up days to Mighty Boosh and Luxury Comedy you can detect influences from Monty Python and the Goon Show to David Lynch and Gary Newman.
Soon, Brisbane audiences will have the opportunity to experience the unpredictable and delightful mayhem of Noel's live shows, when An Evening with Noel Fielding comes to QPAC's Concert Hall. Noel will be performing one show only on Monday 27th April, and given his zealous fan base, the show is sure to book out. In fact Melbourne and Sydney have already added extra shows due to the high demand.
An Evening with Noel Fielding is presented by Triple J, Just for Laughs and Adrian Bohm, whose team says we should, "Expect a magical mix of Noel's unique brand of stand-up comedy, live animation, music and some of Fielding's best known TV characters including The Moon and Fantasy Man. There will also be musical support from Noel's brother Mike Fielding (Naboo/Smooth)."
If you like your comedy to be predictable and safe, then this is not the show for you. If however, like me, you enjoy crazy characters, some with a hint of darkness and danger, others with a child-like innocence, then you simply must attend. You can expect the audience to be just as colourful as the show itself, as long-time fans of Fielding often dress as their favourite characters.
