The Real Deal on Travelling to Mars
Promotional image of event from Ticketmaster website
You've seen the movie 'the Martian', you've read the book, now hear how it could become reality from a bona fide astronaut. Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon and Apollo 11 astronaut, will be in Australia talking about his plans for mankind to land on Mars by 2035.
There are only two sessions currently planned for Australia, in Sydney (at the State Theatre) and Melbourne (Melbourne Town Hall) on the 27 and 29 November 2015, respectively, at 8pm.
Format? The event will be hosted by Ray Martin, and will include images and footage from Aldrin's personal library, taking the audience through this remarkable man's space experiences. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from a pioneer of space exploration, and to get true insights into the real possibilities and opportunities mankind has for making this dream a reality.
This is not just an astronaut capitalising on his fabled space exploits of the past. Buzz Aldrin has serious credentials underlying his authority to speak on this topic. He developed the Aldrin Mars Cycler, a spacecraft system with perpetual cycling orbits, that is intended to achieve a manned mission to Mars by 2035.
