The International Day of Happiness (#InternationalDayofHappiness), is on Friday 20th of March. It's a global campaign co-ordinated by the group 'Action for Happiness', a non-profit movement of people from 160 countries.
Created to foster a worldwide celebration of the United Nations International Day of Happiness, like-minded organisations around the world are eagerly planning events and ways to uniquely embrace this 'fundamental human goal' of promoting happiness, and well being to all peoples.
It's a unique initiative and a great way to come together in your local community. In Melbourne, Founder of 'Happy Minds Work Better' and organiser of the Melbourne based Action for Happiness group, Helen Eveleigh, is running 'An Evening of Happiness' to celebrate.
Jam-packed with speakers, guests will be treated to talks about happiness and hands on activities to learn and try new things. Events like laughter yoga, mindfulness meditation and music\dance therapy are just a few of the activities on the night.
Founder of 'The Happiness Paradigm', Natalia Dewiyani is assisting to co-ordinate the event and from the ticket sales already, it's shaping great night out.
Eveleigh has structured the night in "15 minute sessions. Speakers will talk about different topics and it gives people a taster. There'll be five minutes of speaking and ten minutes of practical exercises."
Based on the concept of 'creative problem solving', Eveleigh advises it's a positive way to "build a network of people – a community table where people can connect and share."
