Give the Seniors in your life reason to tap their toes
Seniors Week runs from the 13th through to the 21st August this year and I'm sure that you have all seen events targeting Seniors highlighted in the media. Seniors Week Is an opportunity for Queenslanders of all ages to join together and celebrate the valuable contribution of our older people. Can you name one charitable organisation that does not rely heavily on volunteers of senior years for its day to day operations?

On Sunday, 21st August, the Redland City Concert Band will be performing An Afternoon of Classics for Seniors Week, under the direction of renowned local, Peter Francis.

Event Flyer

This Concert Band is made up of over 100 musicians from the Redlands, from various walks of life, with the common passion of a love for sharing music. There will be musicians on woodwind instruments, others playing strings or brass instruments, and of course, percussionists. They will be performing a variety of classical and popular arrangements, which I am sure will make your toes tap.

To add to the afternoon's entertainment the Redland City Big Band will also be performing, adding a touch of jazz to the lineup. Vocalists, The Clarke Duo, are also special guests.

As this wonderful afternoon is a part of Seniors Week there is No Entry Fee, though a gold coin donation would be appreciated. Light Refreshments will be available at no charge, though I would take a couple of coins for raffle tickets.

The entertainment commences at 1:30 pm at the Cleveland Assembly Hall, Smith Street, Cleveland. (near the Showgrounds). Bookings are not essential.
