Dry, low key, in-the-vault comedy
Spend an enjoyable evening of dry, low key, in-the-vault comedy with Amy Cunningham.

Amy Cunningham is a Canadian comedian from Toronto who has performed worldwide at festivals like Oddblock Comedy Festival, SheDot Festival, and FRINGE WORLD and she is in Melbourne for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Her comedy is dry and deadpan and sometimes not that obvious, but it's her un-obvious, off-kilter remarks and thoughts about things and situations that make you laugh.

It is a small and intimate show, in which she covers things we all spend time thinking about and that bring us together such as shared fears and breakups and overcoming miserable situations like having a boot stuck to your foot - as well as things you most probably spend less time thinking about than her like bringing together hair to make a new girlfriend, why it would be better if the earth was flat, and using crystals to exploit people's weaknesses.

Witticisms about white privilege and misogyny, and musings on a Great Pacific Patriarchy Patch of sorts, are also delivered and delivered well.

Her show is not completely polished, but her low key comedy is clever and draws you in and it feels personalised, kinda like you're having a conversation with a funny, slightly awkward friend.

As a part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, she has a show every night until 7 April 2019 at Crowded In The Vaults.

I recommend it to those who like their comedy to be dry with a twist and a splash of a boob joke.
