Originating from Germany, acoustic duo Josef and Jan Prasil, are #band_section ">Amistat ! Currently on their East Coast tour this December to celebrate the release of their new single "The Coward ". Joining them are close friends Julian Swinnerton (Cello) and Ryan Oliver (Piano/Percussion)."The Coward is about knowing who you are deep inside but not being able to let it out. People are very fast with making assumptions and judging you based on what you look like, but little they know about what's inside of the person."

The brothers relocated to Australia in 2013 and since then, they have entertained audiences largely on the streets of Melbourne. Their unique sound and tight harmonies have evolved from their life on the road, through experiences and struggles, their hopes and dreams.

To see them play live in such an ambient venue such as Chapel on Chapel, with its large stain glass church windows and high vaulted ceilings, set the perfect backdrop for the band's intimate performance. Their live energy was intense as the powerful acoustic sound of the string instruments and cello resonated throughout the space, enhanced by the brothers' harmonising vocals and infused into an emotional AMISTAT experience.

Tom West , a singer, songwriter and musician from South Australia, provided support for Amistat and his whimsical folk tunes and soundscapesprovided the perfect introduction to Amistat's set.

The pair love to engage with the audience and were not shy to share their stories as intros to the next song! Highlighting their individuality, the brothers bring together contrasting musical styles and personalities to create a balanced sound, which is soaked in melancholy.

Amistat will be playing at the Woodford Folk festival from Dec 27th to the 1st January, around 5 shows, plus Newcastle, Canberra, Glebe, Manly, Byron Bay, South Brisbane.

A must see band if you appreciate true honest vocals and a bit of German humour. These guys know how to engage and motivate their audiences to bring out a simple message "Believe in yourself and don't let others tell you otherwise!"
