Mexican restaurants (in the past) have enabled me to enjoy a positive, dining experience. There was a Mexican restaurant in the Sydney suburb of Balmain I went to ages ago, and the experience was positive giving me faith in Mexican restaurants. As a result, I came across Amigos on Acland Street. Once upon a time we had Taco Bell, a Mexican fast food chain, and today we have the similar Taco Bill . Nothing wrong with Taco Bill, however if you would like an authentic Mexican culinary experience, and especially if you love tapas, then you have just landed your meal ticket (sorry, bad pun) here at Amigos. And if you want a break from eating in at Taco Bill, then Amigos on Acland Street again is your answer.

The food is fantastic, although the decor is questionable. It is quite dark with the red walls, so maybe if they tone down the decor a little bit, Amigos would be more of a joy to visit. The ambience is a little bit too 'night clubbish' at the moment.

Love the friendly service, and the tapas option (for $45) with nachos, chimi changa, a garden salad, frijoles and tortillas with a range of fajitas - a once in a while Mexican feast is exactly what the Doctor has ordered.

Come to Amigos to reward yourself for all of your hard work and be sure to finish your meal with one of their cocktails. Heaven.
