The American Women's Club of Perth is hosting their annual Independence Day Fair on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Caninngton Exhibition Centre.

This Fair celebrates the 4th of July, American Independence Day.

On this date in 1776, the USA adopted the Declaration of Independence, declaring the country independent from Great Britain. In the States, it is a federal holiday and is traditionally celebrated with picnics, barbeques, parades and fireworks.

All are welcome to attend Independence Day Fair this Saturday. The fair will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and admission is by gold coin donation.

Throughout the morning and afternoon, event-goers are invited to enjoy a selection of America food, including hot dogs, Krispy Kreme donuts, chili and nachos.

You will also have the opportunity to purchase a variety of popular pre-packaged food, direct from the USA.

There will also be a range of American sports activities to participate in, including baseball and gridiron football.

A classic American car exhibition featuring Mustangs Corvettes, Ford Thunderbirds, Jeeps and vintage Harley Davidsons will also be staged.

For the children, the Independence Day Fair will have a jumping castle, a petting zoo, face painting, batting cages, a patriotic costume contest and entertainment by Radio Lollipop.

All proceeds will be donated to the Guide Dog Association of WA.
