Take a trip to the American Museum of Natural History's (AMNH) IMAX theater. Watch the Wild Ocean movie on the theater's 40 x 66 foot wide-screen with digital sound system. Wild Ocean is a 40 minute film that explores the annual sardine migration up the KwaZulu-Natal Wild Coast in South Africa. Billions of sardines make this journey up the coast followed by whales, dolphins and sharks. The film investigates the impact of this migration on the ecosystem, along with the effects of global warming and overfishing. Enjoy this educational film while listening to music composed by award-winning directors Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell.

If Wild Ocean peaks your interest, you should also visit AMNH's Milstein Hall of Ocean Life. There's a temporary exhibition titled "Climate Change" which details the science of climate change and the impact of climate changes on future generations.

This film shows every hour on the half hour from 10:30am-4:30pm through January 3, 2010. IMAX® tickets include suggested Museum admission. Tickets can be reserved in advance by calling 212-769-5200 Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
