Event:
An exciting celebration of America's greatest composers

This Saturday 9th September, The Queensland Choir proudly presents the Queensland premiere performance of Dan Forrest's stunning Requiem for the Living, coupled with timeless and grand American masterpieces by the likes of Leonard Bernstein and Samuel Barber.

American Masterpieces will be held at St John's Cathedral in Brisbane from 7.30pm.

During the evening, concertgoers will be treated to beautiful renditions of Barber's iconic Adagio for Strings, renown for its deep sadness and passionate yearning, Bernstein's Broadway-flavoured Chichester Psalms, which is filled with irresistible dancing rhythms and Forrest's Requiem for the Living, which premiered in 2013 to great acclaim. As a result, it was performed 100 times in its first 12 months!

The Queensland Choir will be conducted by Music Director, Kevin Power, and perform alongside the Sinfonia of St Andrews with Irena Lysiuk (soprano) and Patrick Lee (treble).
