Two different cultures of Hygge
In American Cozy: Hygge-Inspired Ways to Create Comfort & Happiness, author Stephanie Pedersen gives hygge, the concept that Danes use to spin their love of comfort into a lifestyle, an American twist. She states that before grasping this book, snuggle into your favorite chair and then discover the popular phenomenon. She states that Americans want that magic.

In Summary

Stop complaining. Say thank you. Celebrate small victories. Find moments for charitable works. You can take your chances and let your mood determine your mood or you can be clear about choosing what you want to feel - a sense of comfort.

Why calm matters
One of the most difficult parts of living a cozy life is being calm. So, get enough rest, exercise daily, sniff vanilla, stretch and smile

Cozy spaces
Many benefits of keeping your space tidy are clutter can make you feel depressed, clutter is linked to obesity and clutter can be embarrassing. Make cleaning fun! Have snacks, use fragrant cleaning products, etc.

Cozy homes
Change your light bulbs, play some music, buy candles, buy a potted plant, paint your walls light yellow, limit colors to two or three, use art wisely, choose furniture with the same color, get some rugs and remove obstacles. This is just a taste of the chapter. The rest of the chapter covers each and every room in detail.

Cozy entertaining
There are ways around hosting obstacles. Simply invite those people you know won't judge you for the way your home looks right now.

Cozy cuisine
Taking the time to make and eat meals is an act of deep self-care, a significant approach to create warmth, memories and magic.

Cozy celebrations
Special occasions take on a deeply meaningful quality when you remove elements that cause you stress.

Cozy work life
You do not have to love what you do, but if you can approach each co-worker, each project, each workday with a sense of genuine curiosity, you can feel a change in your life. Why did this company choose this building?

Cozy style
Open your closet, access items, get rid of damaged items, keep on discarding, give away. Hold a clothing swap. Remove the clutter that obscures your most stunning traits and see how easy and how much fun it is to be you.

This simple and inspiring guide explores how you can use hygge to cozy up to every area of your life.

In Opinion

This book was quite easy to follow. There are many details of hygge packed into such a small book. I liked almost every chapter and learned from almost every chapter, from cozy spaces to cozy work life. I would suggest Pedersen's book to anyone needing hygge in their life, but the person does not know how.

I give this book a 5-star rating.
