You don't have to head to a Michelin Star restaurant to experience delicious food, the American Candy Stand Cupcake Cafť on Norwood Parade serves up good-natured American Food 6 days a week. From beautiful cupcakes to hearty hot dogs this place is about treating yourself and all of your senses.
The Gorgeous Decor Inside the Cafe
Cupcakes are the fotrť of the American Candy Stand. There are always a host of exiting flavours for you to choose from, it is hard to just pick one, you might end up leaving with a dozen. Not only are the cupcakes some of the moistest cupcakes in all of Adelaide, filled with delicious flavours and fillings, but they are also decorated so that they look as good as they taste. From the extravagant Purple Passion, to the home-style Apple Crumble, to the intriguing Chocolate Cherry Cola, there is a flavour to suit everyone's tastes. You may not always be able to choose your favourite flavour, as the ones on offer change daily, but take the opportunity to experiment with the many other amazing flavours on offer.

Another speciality of the store are their hot-dogs and bagels. The Candy Stand takes two traditional New York food addictions and spices them up with gourmet fillings and toppings. Try a traditional New Yorker hot dog with butter, ketchup, and mustard, or try something a bit different and experience Lady Liberty with cream cheese, baby spinach, bacon, onion, and ketchup. Hot Dogs start at $4.80 and bagels start at $7.90. You can also find American sandwiches and other light meals available, or for a sweeter treat try some of their ice cream.
The Mobster Hot Dog with Chips on the Side
While the American Candy Stand deliver on their amazing food, they certainly do not fall short when it comes to drinks. Enjoy a warming drink to accompany your cupcake with a coffee or a hot chocolate. If you're looking for something a bit more special then you can always try one of their peanut butter hot chocolates. For something a bit more refreshing try a pink lemonade, a delightful mix of lemonade, pink grapefruit, strawberry and mint. Those wanting to truly indulge can choose from the huge range of milkshakes, including some of the interesting American milkshake flavours like Chocolate Cherry Cola, Bubble Gum, or Fairy Floss.

The fun doesn't stop there, you can also stock up on a range of hard to find American treats that aren't usually stocked in Australian supermarkets. These include breakfast foods like pop-tarts and sugar filled cereals, or different candies and chocolate bars not available in Australia. They also keep a large range of American sodas that you can enjoy with your meal or take home for later.
American Goodies For Sale
The American Candy Stand is a gorgeous place to head out and enjoy a tasty meal with friends or someone special in your life. There is a fun atmosphere, and you are invited to indulge rather than stick to your senses. Not only is everything top quality, but they also have some other great deals on offer. All of the cupcakes can be purchased and taken away, you can make special orders for events or as a gift for someone's birthday or celebration.
If you like to make your own cakes then the American Candy Stand offer cake decorating classes, where you can make some beautiful creations. Let me know how you go! I don't go there half as much as I'd like to, but each experience is just delightful! :)
I've also bought cupcakes as gifts before, and they are always popular.
