On December 28, Mandoon Estate will be hosting an Outdoor Cinema. You will be able to see a viewing of the 2001 French romantic comedy film Amelie. The film was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and stars Audrey Tautou as Amelie.
Amelie is a sheltered young woman who was home-schooled as a child. To cope with her loneliness, Amelie develops an over active imagination. When she leaves home at age eighteen, she is curious and eager to experience the world, and decides to devote her life to bringing happiness to others.
Amelie earned over $33 million in a limited theatrical release. It did extremely well in the international market and is one of the highest grossing French-language films ever released in the United States. The film was awarded Best Film at the European Film Awards, won four CÚsar Awards in 2002, two BAFTA awards and was nominated for five Academy Awards.
Amelie is a family friendly film that is rated M for mature audiences.
Mandoon Estate has a lot of things planned for its screening of Amelie on December 28. The fun starts long before the movie begins. There will be lawn games and live music from 5pm. The film will start at 7.45pm and finish at 10pm. Prices (excluding booking fees) for the screening will be $10 for adults, $4 for Concession/Children and $16 for reserved VIP seating with deckchair.
You will not be allowed to bring your own food and drink. Mandoon Estate will provide the catering. There will be lots of food and drink options for you to purchase. You can arrive early to grab a spot on the lawn or the deck or to get a bite to eat. A full refund will be given on tickets if Mandoon Estate does not screen the movie due to bad weather.
