I'm so excited to be writing this as I'm really happy to have found this place. On top of that it's located in the north of Bandung on the road up to Lembang, so very close to us and accessible to most.

The reason I love this place is that I have visited something similar in Bali. (I write for both Bali and Bandung) But sadly the price let the one in Bali down. Well, now I've found the same concept and the price here is spot on.

If you don't know about this concept it's really good fun. It's basically large room after large room of floor to ceiling artwork. Some of the pictures have 3D elements to them like a swing, bridge or the hand of King Kong for you to stand in. Then, when you take the picture from a certain angle, it looks like the picture is 3D and you're part of it. There are little example pictures on the floors marking the ideal place to stand to get the best result.

In Amazing Art World - Bandung, there is what must be over 150 pictures. We started with an ocean theme, with big sharks and whales. Then moved onto dinosaurs, jungles and even an octopus attacking a pirate ship. There were pretend art galleries and a really impressive dark room that had lots of glowing elements. The rooms are extremely big and just allows for my toddler to run around and enjoy climbing on the artwork they are allowed to. Like the Venetian gondola, the Tarzan bridge or steps to Mexican temples. I found lots of children just liked the big pictures.

There are also about 4 optical illusion rooms which we very much enjoyed. My toddler loved being bigger than me and just couldn't work it out. We even pretended to break out of the jail cell that had rubber bars. And there was a picture that looked like a coffee shop.

Well, that's the overview of the attraction, you can see how much we liked it. To help you with your visit here are some of the basics. When you arrive, you'll notice a really big open area with fun statues. We took some time to play here before even buying our tickets. In fact, we enjoyed a small picnic sat in the shade under the giant toadstool, which will make sense when you go. If you prefer there's a restaurant here also. Back to the ticket booth area and you'll find a few small children's rides. You get the coins for these from the ticket office but they are 5,000 IDR per ride.

As you get the tickets you'll see that the normal rules apply, like no food and drinks to be taken inside, no flash photography and no shoes. Once you enter, you need to take your shoes off and leave them in a basket that you get a ticket for. At this point, I was kicking myself as I totally forgot socks but this at the venue you don't need them. You can happily walk around barefoot. However, there are some slippers you can buy for 25,000 IDR if you prefer. They also have selfie sticks for sale to for 30,000 IDR.

You'll find a restaurant towards the end of the walk which has all the normal basics like rice, chicken and chips, together with hot and cold drinks. Just outside of the restaurant is a small souvenir shop and then downstairs at the end of the exhibition there's a café. The exit is a different place to the entrance but the basket with your belongs will have been moved to this area for safe collection.

One final point to mention is that at the start of the building they have tried to make it wheelchair accessible with ramps and every room is really big and flat. With that said, at one stage you need to walk down two flights of stairs, then back up and finally down again to the exit. None of these, that I saw, had a lift alternative. It's such a shame as it would have been perfect.

I hope you manage to visit this place as it makes for a fun, easy and cheap morning out. I'd love to hear what you think.
