Amazement on the Central Coast

One of my favourite escapes from the city is a day trip up to Yarramalong to the very beautiful farm setting of Amazement. This unique family attraction offers a wide variety of amusements for both young and old.
Obviously, the mazes are the primary attraction - hedge mazes, rope mazes, puzzle mazes and more. A sandstone labyrinth is currently being built and the intriguing Finger Fortune Maze in the Wild Wood will be open for the holidays. A fort will be constructed on the old sunflower maze site for adventure of a different kind.
Set on a picturesque farm setting, there are lovely walks to be had, and you can revel in the country ambiance. It's a great setting for those inner city kids to explore. Of course, it wouldn't be a farm without animals, and you can feed the large kind - goats, alpacas and even a donkey. In Bunny World you can sit and pat the smaller kind - guinea pigs, chicks and as you'd expect, rabbits.
They also offer rides on electronic cars (for a small fee), pedal cars for the super little, sand pit and play house as well as a trampoline and other games, both indoor and outdoor.
Plenty of shady spots for a picnic lunch but there is now a cafe open too, for a more civilized cuppa or cool drink.
There are always new attractions being added, and if you're lucky, like we were once, you may get to see the sheep racing...so a return visit is in order if you've not been for awhile.
While it is a very easy day trip, there is now also accommodation available in either the farmhouse (
details here ) or a fabulous looking tipi for something different (Family of 4, $125 includes park entry & solar showers).
Amazement is currently open weekends and everyday of school holidays from December 26th. You will find this little secret lives up to its name.
